CROWN BRIDGE PROSTHESIS APPLICATIONS
Tooth loss is not just reduction of mastication efficiency; it is also loss of aesthetics, speech, joint functions and smile, which fits humans the best. Communication of humans begins with speaking and shape with mimics. Dental losses affect mimics negatively too. Smiling, the first step of spreading positive energy begins with complete and beautiful teeth.
Fixed applications for regaining the aesthetics, function, phonation in tooth losses are called crown and bridge prostheses. In cases of inability to restore the present structure of a tooth with filling due to decay or traumas, aesthetic purposed applications which are done for protection of the teeth are called crowns. Crowns are produced in desired color and form in ceramic.
In case of loss of a tooth due to trauma or tooth decay in which implants are not proper, bridge restoration is made. For bridge restoration, united ceramic restoration is applied to neighboring two teeth as a bridge by cutting them and making them smaller in certain sizes. Today, it is not preferable to make healthy teeth smaller in order to replace a missing tooth. Implant application is aimed in these cases and when it is impossible, teeth are eroded for supportive purposes. Use of technology in dentistry brought forth quality, aesthetics, endurance and long term success in lower and upper structure used for missing teeth.
Standard metal which were used in dentistry for years left its place to other substances such as zirconium, titanium, galvano, alumina oxide which are more aesthetic, color compliant, and tissue friendly.
Use of ceramics in dentistry opened a new era and ceramics became able to respond to many expectations. Today, high technology products which are similar to ceramic are being used under the ceramics instead of metal infrastructures.
Computer software and CNC equipment allowed infrastructures to be lighter, more resistant, more compatible and irreplaceable in dentistry.
As in all systems, the basic purpose it create a restoration that may imitate the lost tooth. Naturalness is the first target in all restorations towards regaining the aesthetics and function in Confident clinics. Therefore, high technology products are preferred which have wide color range and toughness.
In department of Aesthetic Prostheses Restorations in Confident, new generation ceramic (porcelain) are being used. It is irrevocable rule to provide the patient with aesthetics, regained chewing function, phonation and smile design. It is definite that teeth are the basic element of mastication function of humans. However, it should not be forgotten that teeth are their irreplaceable accessories and the initial point of smiling.
The purpose of every prosthetic restoration is to have long term success and comfort. Success of our treatments is checked with controls in each 6 months and procedures are being applied towards taking precautions before having a problem. All restoration and treatment applications of our clinic are archived with x-rays and oral pictures; process is evaluated for long term success in check ups of each 6 months.
PROSTHESES WITH SENSITIVE GRIPPING
Humanity searched for various alternatives for prostheses which are applied for lost tooth to be comfortable, painless and aesthetic. These alternatives are sometimes with small rubber pedestal, sometimes bone and sometimes with metal pedestal. When all these aesthetic and simplicity is combined with a proper chewing, modern prostheses with sensitive gripping came out in today’s technology.
Prostheses made for replacing the dental losses subdivide into two:
- Prostheses that cannot be removed by patients which get the support from teeth or implants. These are called fixed prostheses.
- In case of too many lost teeth or no tooth at all, removable prostheses that get the support from jaw tissue or implant teeth. These prostheses are called removable prostheses.
In removable prostheses, support is taken from the present teeth. This support is provided by the hook applied to support teeth. Image of a metal hook creates unaesthetic image. Current approach to this negativity is to use prostheses with sensitive gripping or implant supported removable prostheses.
In prostheses with sensitive gripping, teeth which will provide the support is covered with ceramics and connected with invisible connections. Presence of prosthesis is not noticed when smiled or talked. In implant supported removable prostheses, use of the prostheses gets very easy which is connected with the implant. It does not move in the mouth because it is connected tightly, it does not create wounds. Implant supported prostheses provide serious psychological support to patients with their aesthetics and comfortable use. Implanted supported prostheses which have long term success are preferred by patients commonly.

Can tooth decays be prevented? Brushing the teeth after the breakfast and before sleeping and use of dental floss every day is the most efficient way. Who develop tooth decay more commonly? Those who consume carbohydrate and sugary foods commonly are under higher risk of decay. Although the saliva creates a defense mechanism against the acid produced by the bacterial plaque, it cannot prevent decays on its own.
